Into the wilds of the heart

Cape Perpetua, Oregon

We went on a family camping trip to Cape Perpetua on the Oregon coast this week.

That ocean air purified by the Sitka spruce trees in our midst, the unceasing birdsong in the forest canopy, and the clarity that finds me after a night spent sleeping on the earth all remain with me still.

Shamanic journeys lead us into the wilds of the heart, too, to breathe and listen more purely, offering precious clarity about what we feel and know beneath the surface appearance of life.

So join me this week, if you will, and spend some time exploring that beautiful, alive, and rugged terrain you carry within.

It makes a difference in the quality of our daily lives, these journeys, outward and inward both.
